13 weeks and Bruneau Dunes

We went camping over the weekend with Jake, Megan and Bobert at Bruneau Dunes. The weather was beautiful, 70's and sunshine! There is not a whole lot to do at Bruneau Dunes State Park so we made our own fun. On Saturday, we thought it would be a fabulous idea (not) to do a "dune hike"...I made it a whole quarter of the way up the stupid dune and then thought I was going to die. So us girls sat and waited for the boys...this, by the way, made me super depressed about my non-athleticism being pregnant. I could have run up that damn hill 4 months ago (a.k.a. crawl on my hands and knees, hyperventilating and maybe make it to the top within the hour, but I WOULD have made it!). Nowadays,  I find myself so out of breath just having conversations with people. It's quite pathetic, I know. After the dune hike, we headed back to camp for some shirtless football (boys) and beer...2 more activities I did not partake in. All in all, we had a ton of fun, lots of good meals and it just felt so good to finally kick off Spring time and camping season!

Baby T is a lemon this week! I can't believe how fast the little monster is growing. Although, I have to admit when it went from a peach to a lemon, I was a little thrown off...I guess I thought peaches were a lot bigger than they really are. Looks like it's back to 1st grade for me!

White trash dollar store lights are a MUST!

The boys sat at this table playing cards for literally 4 hours.
Hour 1:

Hour 5:

Lucky bastards got to enjoy this while I drooled.

Austin enjoying a little Terry time on the astroturf...okay
that just made us sound like total hicks.

While the guys drank and played and sat in the sun,
us girls were inside the Terry working on this little beauty!
Look at that artwork! We get a little more skilled with
chalk (which is surprisingly hard to draw with) as the weeks go on.
This week's end product pretty much sums up how much we rock.

We are so excited for our little lemon's debut!

12 weeks and JACKPOT

This past weekend we met up with a bunch of friends and headed to beautiful Jackpot, Nevada... beautiful as in shit hole, that is. This little trip was in celebration of Bobert's birthday and a good excuse for all of us to get together, not say the "F" word, and enjoy some second hand smoke! But seriously, the hotel and casino we stayed at did not ALLOW the F-bomb. 3 strikes and they'd literally kick you out...for real?!?! I have to admit it was pretty damn funny to watch (soberly) as the boys got drunker and drunker try to control their language. And even better? Watching them get yelled at by the dealers for letting one slip, apologizing and slouching down in their seats like they were 5 year olds being punished by their fathers. Although I was 100% sober, it snowed and I think my child is going to come out smelling like an ashtray, we had a great time with our friends and it was definitely a fun trip.

The two sobers...Leeann, by choice. Me, not so much...

Jake literally had 5, fully loaded
plates of crab legs at the buffet.

As did Dub. Oh and fun little fact you
would never know if I didn't tell you:
that green shirt he's wearing has a
picture of himself on the front.

The Megans following around the
cocktail waitresses and then sitting
at down the nearest slot machine, all for
a free drink...little did they know, cocktails
were a whole 2 dollars at the bar, 20 feet away.

Snow, heels and no jackets. Well, of course!

1 of 8 pictures we attempted in the car until it was perfect.
No Drysdale, your face doesn't look like that in real life.

Right after we took this picture, we got in trouble
by casino security. Apparently picture taking
is also banned in casinos. Whatever.

Pretty good impersonations of a scary wood
carving restaurant butler greeter huh?

Apparently this is the ONLY picture I got with
Bobert in it on his own birthday weekend.
Sorry Bob, Happy Birthday!

Baby T a.k.a. "The Peach" also made the trip.

End of 11 weeks

Well, we had our second doctor's appointment this morning. All is well with little baby Taylor. We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time which I must say was pretty amazing and so reassuring! It is such an unreal feeling to hear the beating heart of another human inside of you. We loved it. Babe's heart rate is perfect and according to our doc, "consistent with a boy." I have been completely convinced since day one that this kid is coming out with a weiner so this statement didn't surprise me one bit. I'm still feeling really great; haven't been sick one bit. Thank you LORD for that. I could NOT handle a perma-hangover for 3 months. No thank you. I've just been a little tired and I'm gettin' fat! Which normally would highly upset me but I figure this is a pretty good reason to gain a few pounds...so bring on the sprinkle doughnuts and Sweet Tarts! 12 weeks, here we come!

Lots of updates!

I have to start by apologizing to all 3 of our avid followers for not posting in quite some time (hey mom!). It's been quite a whirlwind of events the past few weeks and frankly, one major "thing" has been consuming my mind. So I guess it's time we let you all in on a little secret...

Yep, that's right. Baby Taylor is on the way! No, we weren't "trying." But it happened and we are thrilled that we've been blessed with such a sweet surprise. As I write this, I am finishing up my 11th week (12 weeks tomorrow). I already feel like it's flying by. It's seems like just yesterday I was sitting on my bathroom floor with a newly positive pregnancy test, pretty much shitting my pants and saying "is this a joke? this is not for real. WTF?" over and over out loud to myself. Now when I said that we weren't trying, I mean we WEREN'T trying; far from actually. A little something called, as my doctor casually stated at our first appointment, "that's why birth control isn't 100%." Sweet. Well, again, after the initial shock wore off, we are really excited! It just happened a little bit sooner than us planners had planned.

I have been working on a weekly project since turning 8 weeks pregnant. (And I will say right off the bat, I totally copied a girl I found on Pinterest for this idea. I am NOT this creative.) I plan on documenting each week of my pregnancy with a chalkboard and a belly shot of course. Here's how it's going so far...

Our little babe is due to arrive September 27th, just in time for football season and for the holidays. So exciting!

Okay moving on to the rest of our updates...Danica's baby shower was 2 weekends ago in Bend and it was a blast! She was absolutely glowing and looked so beautiful and happy. It's exciting to know our kiddos are going to be best little cousin buddies and only 5 months apart. Our sweet little niece is due the end of April and we seriously cannot wait to meet her!

Last update of this post...Carson and I took a long weekend to enjoy some sunshine down in beautiful Arizona. It was 80 degrees and insanely gorgeous. We spent most of our time by the pool with a couple good books but spent some time in Tempe and took a day trip to Sedona. We also got to meet up with Carson's cousin Barry and his family for some visiting and dinner. It was a quick trip but SO worth it for some much needed warm weather. Oh and the highlight of our trip?? Finding TECATE LIGHT (our favorite beer that isn't sold anywhere near us). Unfortunately, I did not get to partake in the drinking festivities but that's okay...only about 200 sober days to go!

I got C hooked on The Hunger Games! He was
a major bookworm the entire trip.

Dear Tecate Light: We have a sick obsession with you,
your friend lime and your other friend salt. Please
make your way up to Idaho someday.

This was slightly tortuous to watch but Carson seemed
to see my pain so he complimented me with, "Babe, I
really appreciate you carrying my child."
It helped...a little.

Me enjoying a delicious banana smoothie.

And Baby T enjoying a little sun.
