This picture is from the first night we camped
in Terry after picking it up from Seattle.
Okay folks, wipe away those tears because we have a new addition to our family! Meet...Santara...we are still in discussion on the name so any suggestions are welcomed!
Carson, Kenna and I did a little family camp trip out at Brownlee Reservoir last weekend. We wanted to test her out and work out all the kinks before having a camper full of friends. It was a little cold but blue sky and beautiful sunshine made up for it. AND we were like the only crazies willing to camp in the dead of winter so we had the whole park to ourselves. We went on a long family walk, watched movies, ate, drank and after putting babers to bed, mom and dad had some campfire/wine time. Pretty much amazing.
All strapped in and ready for take off!
Co-pilot
Photo bombed by Austin. He's so slick.
Carebear
Love this guy.
Is there anything better than camping beers?
Playtime!
Can you find Kenna?
Lady and the Tramp...3 times!
Now onto the not-so-fun part of the past few weeks...I went back to work part-time, 3 days a week. Ugh. Enough said? I mean, I'll agree that having some time away from my baby with adults, doing what I went to school for and what I am good at, is definitely a must. But I still hate being away from her. I guess that's normal though. She needs it and so do I.
And on to the most recent happenings...the girl who was watching Kenna quit on us a few weeks ago. That was real awesome. She was overwhelmed with her own kiddos and adding a 4 month old to the mix was just too much I guess. So we have spent the past couple weeks scrambling for childcare. Carson's mom was able to fly out and help and between us and friends, we've got this month covered. But now the hunt is on for new daycare. Bleh. Not fun.
Aaaaannnnddd lastly, we have a sick babe. Why did NO ONE tell me how much it effing sucks having a coughing, congested, fussy, NON SLEEPING, sick baby?! I would argue that the past few nights have been almost worse than (if not have surpassed) the suck factor of those newborn days. My poor girl had a fever the other night that pretty much contained her to my arms for 10 hours throughout the night. And, although a few nights in between have been okay, last night she was up every 30 minutes coughing and gagging and hating her life...which means mom and dad also hate their lives. Today has been spent napping and watching Disney movies. I'll take it :)
Kenna's 4 month wellness check just happened to fall right in the middle of her cold spell so we were able to get her checked out with our regular doc AND get all her stats. She is 50th percentile for weight and 80th for height. Tall and skinny and healthy as a horse...well, in general I guess :)
My mom (Grandma) came this past weekend to spend time with us...oh who I am kidding? She came to spend time with Kenna. We had a lot of fun with her and we even got to go out on a date while Grandma babysat. I so wish she was closer.
We sure love this kiddo and hope she gets to feeling like herself again soon!
